Spinoza and Atheism 1

Spinoza,the Jewish Dutch philosopher, rejected teleology and showed that final causes are deemed as an obstacle to science and equal to ignorance.Any one of us may like the beauty of flowers and even adore their floral scent thinking that they were created such way only to please our tastes.people also may look up to the sky stars and and believe strongly that they were created only to guide them through darkness.This way of thinking, the teleological method,is adopted heartily by priests and some philosophers who believe strongly that all phenomena of Nature have definite ends in view represented in pleasing humans.I, myself,believe that their belief has a portion of truth ,which is that all things are not created in vain ,but have ends in view ; yet, I do not agree that these phenomena are there for Humans utility.According to Spinoza,that teleological way of thinking has issued from the nature of human minds which cannot but put ends for humans'actions,which are necessarily beneficial to them.In other words , people seek all that is useful to them and this rule ,in its turn ,was conferred to Nature.With the passing of time, the primitive man began to offer sacrifices to this or those god(s) who,as they thought,provided them with this useful world.Thus, the idea of a deity came into the primitive minds.
